I'm the taxman, yeaaaaaah

Today, according to my tax bill, I’ve been employed by a company I interviewed for over a year ago. They apparently hired me but forgot to tell me, then they also forgot to fire me for not turning up, so I’m somehow their unpaid employee and yet owe taxes for wages I’ve never been paid. FML

Sounds like either someone stole your identity and worked there, or soneone at the company used your info and embezzled some cash from the company. Either way it looks like stolen identity.

Demand the company pay your wages. The government thinks you owe taxes because the company told them what they paid you. If you didn't receive it, they still owe it to you. If the company doesn't cough up the dough immediately after you politely request it, you can start talking about tax fraud and prison, etc.

0 of $0 is $0 so you can't pay for nothing lol.

you don't know how paying money to the government works do you? they once gave me 30c more than they should have, then hit me with a list of "fees" for "taking their money" that turned into me owing them $37... doesn't matter what you do or don't own them, only what they think you owe them. and since they can't do math very well, it tend to be alot... or nothing at all depending on the dice roll.

depending on where you live, you would be not only entitled to what they said they paid you, but any associated fees AND in some cases interest on them "Borrowing" your money. if they owe you a ot, lawyer up and add it to the bill.
