I'm tempted to claw my eyes out just reading this.
It is possible to babysit without watching tv, you know. Crazy, out-of-the-box thinking, I know.
I've no idea how long 5 and a half replays of an Elmo episode are, but I bet it's longer than a toddler can scream continuously without getting tired or distracted. Even if it isn't - don't give in to his demands. If you ever babysit that same kid again, he's going to pull the exact same crap on you again whenever there's something he doesn't want to do. Just put your foot down, it's a little kid and not a fearsome dragon that'll eat you if you don't comply.
I'd take Elmo over the wiggles any day of the week!!!! try having that replayed from breakfast until dinner every day for 5 years lol. at least my siblings out grew it before I jumped off a bridge
This is how my little sister used to be with the lion king, but I guess it's more tolerable when the kid is someone you love lol
If you distract him he'll scream for about 3 minutes. Tops. Or you can let yourself be bullied by an infant, but that's totally up to you.
*shudder* I've felt your pain OP. My ex's little cousin watched the same episode of Animal Mechanicals over and over for eight hours straight while we were visiting once. It's been a little over six years and I STILL get the song stuck in my head occasionally. Worse still, his mom was present the entire time and allowed it. I think she just sort of gave up, poor lady lol
Im a no Bs kind of mom, i wouldnt stand for the screaming. I hope you get a handle on your sanity and possibly put your foot down about replaying it. It's one thing to do it every once in a while, but honestly sounds like they got you doing everything they want in a bad way. But hey, Im not you. Id hope a sitter/nanny/daycare would not give in every time cause Id be stuck with the repercussions of them giving in as well, and with three kids of my own, no.. Just no.

I guess i should b grateful that my son likes 2 movies, cars & cars 2; much longer, less repetition
I feel for you dude, i don't like kids at the best of times
