I NEED URGENT ASSISTANCE

Today, I have watched the Elmo's World episode featuring balls ten times in a row. The toddler I'm watching screams if I put on something different. His mom just said she was stuck in traffic. She should be back in about five and a half more replays. FML

I guess i should b grateful that my son likes 2 movies, cars & cars 2; much longer, less repetition

I feel for you dude, i don't like kids at the best of times

As a babysitter and someone who works in a nursery from time to time, I'd put my foot down. Kids need to learn boundaries and who's in charge. Let the kid scream, eventually they'll get tired and will learn that screaming doesn't get them their own way

Let the little brat scream himself hoarse. Can't be much worse than having Elmo's shrill, grating voice buffet your eardrums.

Since when did toddlers become the boss of adults?? My nephews don't get to watch tv with me because they get enough of it when other people are watching it. They don't always like it but tough titty! I prefer to watch them use their imaginations and play with each other. Tv should be a privilege, not a right!

Sing a Bob Dylan tune: "You can't always get what you want"

Oh stop complaining. Kids like repetition and you're getting paid to babysit. I've had to watch the Barbie ballerina videos so many times I could quote the whole thing for a while.

When I babysat my 18-month-old cousin, I had to play the "Where's Spot?" and Barney Live videos so often I STILL occasionally hear their dialogue in my dreams. She is now 22 and married, with her own baby on the way.

I don't feel sorry for OP. You're presumably paid to watch this child and at the end of your shift you can leave whereas this is the life of the mother. As a mother of a toddler myself, it's not that hard to tune out TV shows. You could try and play some games with the wee kid.
