Oh honey your mom is probably going through menopause. I feel for you and for her.
Your poor mom. Perimenopause/menopause is enough to drive even the toughest woman to screaming
You need to call whatever your local emergency mental health service is. Whatever is causing it needs to be found and either fixed or managed. She needs sectioning so they can get her fully assessed and diagnosed, no matter how loud she screams about it. Sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is to call in the professionals. It could be something as simple as a UTI, that can cause all manner of seriously ****** up behaviour, could well be horrific reaction to menopause, a complete mental breakdown, early onset cognitive decline or it could be something like a brain tumor. You need to force the medical intervention and diagnosis because she's not capable of getting it for herself right now. Call your adult social services, they should be able to advise you.
That sounds like it's a medical condition to me. Dementia, Alzheimer's, brain tumor are all possibilities that come to my mind. A competent MD who deals with dementia patients should be capable of dealing with Mom, no matter how unpleasant she gets... I had a stepmom who developed Alzheimer's. The screaming phase usually comes later than the other symptoms. If it's not a physical brain condition, then Mom needs competent mental health help. This is not normal for anyone... My Stepmom's Alzheimer's was a tragedy. It came on slowly and was very difficult for my Dad. Fortunately all the children were grown and out of the home.
