JustSilence: I believe you just described the plot of Mean Girls, with Lindsay Lohan.
Really? You let a friend bleach your hair??? Just how stupid are you? Well, maybe you learned from this. When it comes to chemicals, cutting, car work, or great ideas: DON'T LET A FRIEND DO IT!!!!
It says on the box to test an area first. Sorry your hair fell out though that's really horrible. Maybe they responded like that because of the dramatic change in hairstyle. My friend who normally has 26"+ hair FINALLY cut the dead stuff off and has 18" hair. Such a dramatic change we thought she was kidding too.
At this point, shave your head in support of cancer patients and let it grow back.
Everyone is bitching saying ydi for letting a friend do it instead of a professional. Well, every time I've gotten my hair done, cut, dyed, anything, my sister has done it. She's better than most hair stylists. And I've done hair too, and have never had a problem. The bleach we used was for hair, it was just really cheap shit from walmart. We ended up going to Sally's and getting the correct stuff.
if you know your friend is skilled or atleast confident that they will be able to do it is one thing, someone who's never done anything similiar before is quite anouther, thiers no way to actually know which scenario op's was.. inless he comments and says so
Even professionals can't fix everything, but it probably looks better after they got done than it did before! Hopefully you've learned your lesson!

And that's why you leave it to the professionals in the first place...
Damn, OP. What the hell kind of bleach did you use? Aren't you supposed to use stuff that's... specifically for hair? I wouldn't know, I've never tried.
