Today, my bank card was skimmed (copied electronically) and my account was totally cleaned out. I had only just got paid and don't get paid again for 4 weeks. The bank says it will take 21 days minimum to resolve. They offered me a credit card with a huge interest rate to help me get by. FML

Do you really think we dont what skimming is.

Fyl, but always check the machine before you swipe your card and cover the keys while you enter your pin. Those scammers are sneaky.

Sucks that you got ripped off, but that should teach you not lo live paycheck to paycheck.

21 days is unacceptable. Tell them that. I'm with CitiBank and had an unauthorized charge for a couple hundred dollars a few months back. It was reversed in 72 hours.

Are you retarded? Learn how credit cards work dumbass.

Wow he isn't living paycheck to paycheck...he's saying he just got paid and wont for another 4 weeks...he had money in his account but it was all taken. Learn to read.

A good tip - any time you're doing a transaction at a machine that would be easy to compromise, like paying at the pump at a gas station, use a credit card. If it is skimmed, the credit card company's money is stolen, not yours, and you have until the time you have to pay it back to get it resolved. If you pay off all legitimate purchases immediately, interest isn't a problem. And with the credit card the bank gave you now, if you pay it off within 21 days interest shouldn't be a problem either. I think you'll be ok. Still, identity theft is a pain, so FYL.

Something like that just happened to me--so you have ALL of my sympathy.

Why are people bashing on the OP? Some people are living paycheck to paycheck not because they want to. It's all they have. Have you even HEARD of the state of the economy? Definite FYL.
