Why would you have any reaction to a postman? Heck my mail today consisted of a letter that said I bought and ate recalled food, a recall for my car, 3 debt collection notices, and a letter from my issuance saying they're going to raise the price of my asthma medication at the end of the month. I'll probably get more bad news tomorrow. Still indifferent to the postman.

I get like that too, OP. If this is a normal reaction for you, you might want to look into getting treatment for possible anxiety/social anxiety. I also have panic attacks when I hear a knock at the door if I'm not expecting anyone or when my phone rings. @___@

I once had a couple of cops in the street arresting one of my neighbors. When one of them made eye contact with me through my window I hit the deck. Point is op, you are not alone.

I FEEL YOU ON THIS. I AM SO SCARED OF THE MAILMAN. I ACTUALLY HAVE A MAIL WOMAN, AND SHE IS SCARY LOOKING! EVEN THE TRUCK SCARES ME NOW. ONE TIME I WAS SQUATTING DOWN TO LOOK FOR A PAIR OF SHOES NEXT TO THE DOOR AND I LOOKED UP AND SHE WAS PUTTING THE MAIL DIRECTLY INTO MY MAILBOX WHICH IS ATTACHED TO MY HOUSE. SO THE ONLY THING BETWEEN US WAS THE DOOR THAT HAS GLASS WINDOWS. SO I COULD SEE HER AND SHE WAS ON THE PHONE TALKING AND I LITERALLY FELL TO THE FLOOR AND SCREAMED SILENTLY.

Rofl I do the same thing...except I just hide and its every single day...I don't know why, but I have an unhealthy fear of the mailman, but for some strange reason not the UPS guy or FedEx....strange.
