Do whatever makes you happy no matter what the occasion is.
Tell them to go f*** themselves. I hope your boyfriend at least spoiled you.
I would have done the same thing
Im assuming you were the one they made do all the house work and do everything and now that youre out of town youre "selfish". It's like a cinderella story! But happy Birthday, OP
Just ignore them OP, and go with your boyfriend anyways. Learn from my experience. My family never celebrates New Year's eve, so I made plans with my bf to celebrate with him. Next thing I know people are freaking out, calling me selfish for not wanting to spend it with the family. In the end I tell them alright I'll spend it with them, but when I show up on New Years they've all left to an activity without me. I call them and ask what's going on, and they tell me they figured I just wouldn't show up anyways (despite saying I would) and that I should go open a soda and watch the countdown on television by myself. So, once again, IGNORE THEM.
Ohhh I feel your pain! frickin family!!!
Did they not know you were leaving?
There were probably strangers waiting up and down the boulevard
it's my birthday today too ^_^
Your family are arseholes
