Today, my boyfriend bought another expensive bong to go with the one he bought last month, along with his new phone, airsoft gun, and various other things he's blown our money on this year. He's bought nothing to prepare for our son, though, who's due next month. FML

I'm not going to lie, and I'll accept whatever thumbs down this gets. Both OP and her boyfriend are complete and utter irresponsible idiots for smoking pot with a baby on the way. You don't smoke or do drugs when pregnant. I don't know if OP smokes, but if her boyfriend does, then the baby is getting some too.

It sounds to me, as a few other posters pointed out, that you expected him to change. You do realize that the only person capable of making someone change is that person themselves? No matter how pregnant you are, the same impulsivity which caused him to blow your cash is likely what caused him to knock you up. He isn't thinking about the future at all. I would chalk this up as a serious life lesson for you, and leave this dude before he blows all of your cash. The act of leaving may also force him to re-examine his priorities, but you totally deserve it for shacking up with the guy. I doubt that his behaviour changed overnight, and you knew exactly what you were getting into. Now woman up, and own your mistake, but don't make your kid suffer for your terrible judgment!

Make sure if you're not MARRIED by the time the kid is born that you have at least started CHILD SUPPORT HEARINGS...otherwise: he is going to be one of America's next dead beat dads, entirely.

Those are all big mistakes he made all right. But not nearly as big as the one you've made by getting pregnant by this loser. I'm sure he is as irresponsible now as he was when you first met so when did it suddenly become a good idea to have a child with him?
