Just a prank, bro!

Today, at the library, somebody left themselves logged in to Facebook on a public computer after they had left. Trying to teach them a lesson, I updated their Facebook status to something outrageous. That's when they came back to the computer after getting something from the printer. FML

Oh please. All of you who said "You Totally Deserve It," get the **** out of here. You know that you would have done the same thing. Everyone would want to. Gosh, everyone on this site is so hypocritical. No one can be a perfect little angel and not do something that bites them back all the time, but you guys expect them to. Figures.

Go look up "tu quoque". It might do you some good.

I have no idea where (or even IF yet) you grew up, but I have never had the urge to do anything to anyone else's Facebook. And if you do, may I suggest a hobby or something more constructive?

Why would it be bothered to do something like that? In the end it accomplishes nothing so it would be a waste of time. So no I can say I have no desire to do that to a random stranger's facebook. If it was a good friend then yeah cause then we can both get a good laugh out of it and know that they would get me back one day. But a random stranger... it is pointless.

Um, no, I definitely would not have done the same thing. I'm not a "perfect little angel" and I think it's fun and harmless to act immature sometimes, but that's not the same as being completely obnoxious. Some of us were kids, and apparently some of us were just undersized assholes. This little prank isn't even entertaining. Also, has anyone noticed that the people who like to do this always seem to be the ones who also think it's funny to post horribly homophobic or otherwise offensive things, like using "retard" as an insult? I guess one form of myopic stupidity often goes hand in hand with another.

Well, I do agree that it is rather pointless to do something like this. But the main point I'm trying to make here is that people on this site are so quick to berate and downsize others by way of clicking "You Totally Deserve It." It's unbelievable to me, even now, of how truly mean people can be on this site. All in the name of creating an online identity that, in the end, really doesn't matter. And yeah, I feel the whole "retard as an insult" thing, too. I mean, thinking about if for just one second is all it takes to realize that there actually are mentally handicapped people out there that would take offense to such insults.

Did you look up look tu quoque? Here's the gist of it: even if I were the world's biggest bastard and never did a single nice thing for anyone, I would still be correct that something is YDI if somebody is an ass and gets called on it or receives proportional punishment for it. Now, it just so happens that I'm not the world's biggest bastard and I wouldn't do what OP did, or what most of the people I tell "YDI" to do, but if I were it wouldn't make them deserve it any less. There is nothing mean about saying "You directly caused something to occur by your own dickish actions" if it is true, such as in this case.
