Just think about the shareholders!

By jessiethebestie - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I learned that for the next two months I'll get to train physicians on how to use the computer program that has made my job obsolete. I've known this program was coming for months, but I didn't know it would be taking my job. FML

Are you a medical scribe? Those are a dying breed. FYL.

Damn computers! In my day we did everything by hand and looked stuff up in encyclopedias and respected our elders! All jokes aside, that sucks OP. Best of luck.

Ouch. Sorry to hear, OP. It sucks that you didn't know from the start so you could have had more time to arrange something else, but I wish you all the best.

I resent me or my colleagues being called stubborn; we want technology to make our lives easier & many of us r not just open to it, we attempt to take it forward; if theres any physician who is stubborn its probably some old doctor; n its likely for his age not his occupation

Start looking for a job, gotta hustle.

After 5 Terminator movies, one would think that people would get a hint. Judgement Day is coming and I doubt whether Arnold is going to come from the future to save us this time. All jokes aside though. Sorry to hear about this, OP. I hope you manage to get a new job and I wish you all the best for the future.

Was this a company-made program that was kept quiet? Just trying to figure out how OP knew enough about the program to know that it was coming, and that they are able to teach it, but didn't know it would endanger their position. Maybe OP'll get lucky and some of the doctors won't want to convert to the new program. Hell, I know a surgeon who still dictates everything on a tape recorder for his wife/secretary to write down later, so it isn't impossible.

OP needs an upgrade seriously think!

Why? No one can force you to do so. If it's about money then do the training but do an extremely poor job of it. Kind of a final F U.

Been there before buddy. Are you the only one who knows the software? Or are you just the most convenient person to train them? If the former, demand a raise for your last couple months or a written guarantee of future employment (when i was getting the boot, i told them to pay me double to train the new people or find someone else to do it. best paychecks ever). If the latter, find another job post haste. Nothing you can do but look at your next job.

id just quit...assuming your not being moved somewhere else.
