Keep it up

By need2eat - 15/06/2009 15:48 - United States

Today, I saw my parents for the first time in 11 weeks. They commented on how much weight I lost. I told how due to stress, I hadn't been able to eat anything for the past two weeks and I was basically unintentionally starving myself. They told me to keep it up. FML

Maybe they weren't being totally serious? Either way, get on a healthy diet and start exercising. You'll thank yourself later in life when you're lean and healthy.

That's such a parental thing to say. My mom encouraged me to take diet pills when I was 12 and at a HEALTHY weight. I don't know why parents can be so judgmental about weight, my grandma is too. If I had kids, I would think they were beautiful no matter what, regardless of weight. And dear god, if they told me they were under a lot of stress I would help them immediately...I'm sorry your parents suck.

You have such loving parents.... What is up with all these uncaring parents I read about at this site?? I'm a parent and I would never treat my son or step-daughter the way some of these OP's get treated. OP, I've been there, as far as the stress and weight loss goes. It's tough to deal with and does not help when people brush it off like it's no big deal. That's horrible what your parents said to you. They should have been there to comfort and help you, not make you feel worse. Hang in there!

try going vegen for at least 3 months youll lose weight very quickly

similar thing happened to me, and i was thin in the first place. that's ****** up. your parents will never change, but you can change how you react to their criticism. stay healthy and just let it roll off your back... you'll be a lot happier in the long run.

aw, sorry! :( milenavessylo basically said what i was going to say. (#78) hang in there!

They just happy you're losing weight.

dude, chill, they were clearly not paying attention. parents always do that, like my mom when she is driving, once i told her i got a 64 on a test and was pissed, and she was like "thats nice" because she was paying attention to the road, no big. honestly no worries they dont want you to starve yourself :)
