Today, while waiting for gallbladder removal surgery, I have to stop taking the anti-acid medication that's helping me not have attacks, because my iron level is too low for surgery and the pills make it so that I can't absorb iron easily. FML

I had an iron deficiency and my Dr had them give me an IV injection for the iron - No digestion required… He was my oncologist (I am recovered from cancer 5 years ago.) He told me that it’s hard to raise iron levels with a pill… FYI - A lot of nutrients require stomach acid to be digested. If you are on an acid reducing medication of any kind that can be a problem with certain minerals.
