It doesn't matter. Who cares? They're gonna have to find out sooner or later. I'm far more concern with whoever told them Santa was real in the first place. The truth always hurts, no matter what it is or who you tell it to. This isn't a FML. What is ****** up is the bias that comes with telling the 'painful' truth to young children, who shouldn't be lied to in the first place. Innocence of children my ass.
Well, you got what you wanted.
OH MY GOD!!! Santa is not real??? .... You bastard!
Shouldn't have posted this on this site OP. A lot of the people on this site can be real jackasses I agree with you that kids should not be indocrinated with this belief in Santa. I mean, how is that good? Wouldn't it be nicer for kids to know that the presents they so crave for are being bought for them by their wonderful parents? That'll improve family values greatly, and maybe kids wouldn't take their presents for granted.
But there is also the reality that many kids are learning far sooner than they should have to that their parents are struggling to keep a roof over the heads and food on the table - it makes it harder (even at 6 years old) for them to ask for the moon and the stars from Mom or Dad when they are watching some strange man in a tow truck take their car away, or when they are eating dinner by candlelight because another strange man showed up and turned off the lights for some reason. And for a parent, it is heartbreaking. So - we have some magic out there surrounding some random fat guy with flying reindeer. And, like magic, most parents find a way to deliver each year no matter how bad things may seem!
Well... You contradict yourself. You say that kids should know Santa isn't real... So what's the big fuss if you tell them?
Ha ha! Awesome! You should make a costume and go around calling yourself Captain Reality. Here to dispell the lies and myths that parents feed children all over the world. My reality senses are tingling. Somewhere someone is letting their child think that Harry Potter is real... I must go there and tell them that Dumbledore dies in the movies and that magic is not real!!! CAAAAPPPPTTAAAIIINNNN REEALLLITTYYY AWAY!!!!! (but via public transport, not flying.. because that would just be silly) :-P
Pretty sure that's like, a ticket straight to hell.
Okay that's bad, but how is this an FML? According to what you were saying, didn't you get exactly what you wanted? Still a good story though.
my parents had me going until middle school years lol.
