Show him their death notices/obituaries, and if he doesn't Apologize & give you your job back, report him and collect unemployment until you get his job! False termination and unethical work conditions. :) I'm sorry about your bad luck!

I lost my (adoptive) Dad Dec 31, my (biological) sister on Jan 4, just hours after my Dad's Memorial service. I also reunited with my birth mother the same weekend. To say I was an emotional basket case would be an understatement. My heartfelt sympathies.
I should think that's a pretty easy thing to prove.
