Bosses can be assholes
Well if you rudely told the customer to leave instead of saying "I'm sorry ma'am, but this is a family friendly store and I'm going to have to ask you to leave if you can't watch your language." then I'm with your boss. If you were polite then your boss should've backed you up by saying "I'm sorry there's a problem ma'am but I'm going to have to ask you to stop using that kind of language with my employees. Now what can I help you with?" or something like that. I've been told by my boss that if customers start cursing at me that we tell them that kind of language is not appropriate and to please leave the store. If they continue to badger us we call for management to deal with them.
You should STILL never act unprofessional! A VERY foolish decision on your part!

Your boss sounds like a dick
That's a stupid thing to say, telling a customer to leave.
Not always. Angry customers can sometimes get carried away. Not asking them to leave can result in violence and death threats. I've seen it, unfortunately.
You did the right thing...and he just inverted what he just said...
your way of thinking is stupid tbf
