Wow what a contradicting ass
**** retail. **** customer service. People are idiots. We're not there to take abuse from customers.
I'm sorry, but no. It should not just come with the territory. This idea that people who work retail should just expect to be yelled at is ridiculous and asinine. Retail workers are still human, customers have no right to treat retail workers like doormats. There's no excuse for treating retail workers like shit for just doing their jobs.
Maybe he was being sarcastic... Which would make your boss awesome and you look like an idiot
They have a good website out to prove the opposite of just that.
1st rule of costumer service: Talk shit about the customers behind their back, yet be nice to their face. I'm actually astounded at some of the rude comments my managers make. I mean I was thinking it, but I would never say it.
I blame the economy.
So your 'way of thinking' is that customers should be treated like crap? As in, the people who pay the money which in turn pays for your job? Sounds like you're a real gem for any company
Sometimes customers really cross the line though. My wife works at CVS and a while back a woman came in and pitched a fit because CVS did not carry Victoria's Secret bras, she didn't calm down until she was given a $40 gift card! Retail workers should have the right to tell customers to gtfo when they act so unreasonable. The employees aren't in control of what the store carries or the prices and some people need to learn that or suffer some kind of consequence when they can't grasp that.
Your boss must have been high when he told you that... You should have known... You just can't ditch the rule "the customer is always right"
Except for the fact that the customer is almost always wrong. 95% of the time the customer will be wrong. In this case you can't just lower the prices for the guest because they think it's too high. You'd go out of business. The customer was wrong in this case and if they can't afford to shop somewhere they should just shop somewhere else instead of yelling at the employees. They have no control over how the prices are set.
While working as a cashier, I had multiple people yell at me for prices being to high. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to think a random cashier decides the prices of everything in the store. C'mon now.
That policy is completely outdated. You may have satisfied one customer, but that one customer drove away all your other customers.
