And then when he comes in sick be sure to "remind" him that he come into work sick, and when he stays home remind him he can't stay home while sick. When he yells at you just tell him you're repeating his words and that you just want to know which rule it actually is. Seriously though you should probably talk to HR about it and if you don't have hr than try and sit down with him and explain that he said two contradictory things and you wanted to know which rule to follow for next time.

Well make sure that while you're there you hang around your boss as much as possible and really sell those coughs and sneezes odds are they'll let you go home and stop complaining.
