Meat is murder

Today, I went on my first date with a girl I have been infatuated with for months. At the restaurant, the waiter came while she was in the bathroom. I ordered steaks for both of us. Turns out, she is vegetarian, and doesn't like it when men are "overly aggressive." She called me a cow murderer. FML

Never order food for another without asking. Should have asked the waiter to come back in a few minutes, when your date was back.

her vegetarianism is not the issue. why would anyone order for anyone unasked, when they aren't at the table? especially on a 1st date when you clearly do not know her likes and dislikes yet? it's a toolheaded move. does the OP think women are mindless robots? good luck on your next date too, mate.

She handled that incredibly rudely. If she didn't want to dare a "cow murderer," she should have made sure you were a vegetarian before agreeing to date you. And she could have changed her order. However, you started it. The server should have waited, but you should have asked him to come back later. I don't care who is paying; you treated her like a thing without a mind of her own. Just because you thought it was the tastiest thing on the menu clearly doesn't mean she would too.

Call her crazy as much as you want, but I think it's incredibly rude and presumptuous of her date to order for her. On the first date, no less! When he clearly has no idea what she would want. What a jerk! Even if she weren't a vegetarian, and even if she liked steak, there's something to have a problem with. You totally deserved it. How hard is it to wait until she comes back from the bathroom?

You totally deserved it. She sounds crazy (most vegetarians are nice, but I could see not wanting to kiss a meat-eater if you thought it was wrong) but why the F would you order someone else's dinner? How do you even know what they like?
