Today, at a friendly get-together, my friend's husband had too much to drink and got into a fistfight with my husband. I'm seven-and-a-half months pregnant, and the friendly get-together was my baby shower. FML

There's way too many men going to baby showers these days. men should do something separate to celebrate if they want to do a get together.

Why is that? Not all baby showers end badly. It's nice to get everyone together to celebrate this blessed event. Btw I don't see a bunch of guys partying on their own being any better. :P

The women celebrate impending motherhood, the men celebrate impending fatherhood? While directly related, they are different events, with different life changes and thus deserving of different atmospheres and gifts for their celebrations.

I never understood the concept of having alcohol at a baby shower. Whenever alcohol is around, people tend to get stupid, and to have it at a baby shower, you are just asking for trouble. Not all parties/celebrations need alcohol to have fun.
