Misbehaving

Today, at a friendly get-together, my friend's husband had too much to drink and got into a fistfight with my husband. I'm seven-and-a-half months pregnant, and the friendly get-together was my baby shower. FML

Did his daughter have to leave her ACT prep class early to collect his sorry ass and pay for the damages?

That's not cool, but on the other hand congrats for becoming a mother soon OP!

This is why I don't drink. And alcohol at a baby shower? With guys? I wouldn't do it.... Ha

This is why you never reveal the sex of the child until they are born. Some people just can't handle it. Damn you, ultrasounds!

Sounds like some Jerry Springer stuff

At least it wasn't a riot with 200 people. I heard about that on the news a couple weeks ago.

Maybe they held the baby shower in a restaurant. Hope you gave the father to be merry hell OP!

That's why men should not go to baby showers. They are for women

The reason they got drunk has to be because they were at a baby shower. Who brings a man to such an event? When he says "yeah that sounds awesome" it generally means "get me the f*** out of this situation!". Don't even tell the man about it, it'll end badly for one of you.

Do people really enjoy having baby showers or being invited to them? We don't have them over here in Europe. (friends and family give gifts or donate baby stuff that they do not use any longer individually, either before the birth, or more frequently on their first visit). I can imagine it is a bit akward for men to feel relaxed on these events. I maybe wrong, since i've never been to one.

It's just another cultural thing in america. It's stupid in every regard, kind of like taping your birth.

Taping a birth should seems wrong to me.

Men and alcohol, two things that shouldn't be at a baby shower. I know it is becoming popular, but this is exactly why it should not be. There was nothing wrong with this being a woman only event.
