If you've been together for a long time, then I think it's fine for you to raise the issue of spending your lives together :) Unfortunately, my cousin dated this girl for like 8 years ? 9 years? since he was in military, he's like 28 ish now and the gf is a year older...and I think they recently broke up :( He had no plans to be with her forever but she didn't know that :((
