Or they would just assume that you were joking as well?
Is it so hard for people to say pardon when they don't hear something?
63 I do not know why you are getting thumbed down it is the truth society thinks that if you do not hear something to just nod and smile and not ask for them to repeat it.
Sooooo true! I would give you two thumbs up if I could. I just say "sorry I'm a bit deaf".
Why not just play it off as a jokey answer, to their jokey question?
I guess it wasn't a joke then..
Why not just ask them to repeat if you didn't hear them correctly? I say ydi, whether you are or aren't a gold digger.
I really don't think OP can be blamed. I mean, she's nervous because it's the first meeting, and when you're nervous, you do stupid stuff like that. And c'mon, haven't we all done this once?
When I lived abroad and didn't speak the language, it became a natural reaction for me. I wouldn't blame her! :/
That's a pretty crappy joke for a first meeting. I find them to be the pretentious bitches. If they were joking, wouldn't they take your response as joking also?
thats what i thought
If he is rich I don't see a problem
Ladies and gentlemen, we found out gold-digging bitch.
You got thumbed down quick. xD
The one time when the old "smile and nod" does not work.
Just smile and wa... ABORT! ABORT!
It's always hard to make a good first impression on the other parts parents. But why didn't you just ask them to repeat it or joke it off as they were jokingly asking in the first place?
You should have just told them you didn't hear what they said.
"I'm sorry I didn't hear you. what was that?"
Exactly! So many of these misunderstanding FMLs can be solved by asking a simple question. It's not rude to ask people to repeat themselves.
That awkward moment when you've already asked 3 times.
