My advice would be to make sure everyone you are mutual friends with knows about this. Turn his friends against him. He may come around to admitting his mistake, and if you truly love him enough you will grant him forgiveness. If he doesn't, chalk it up to him being mentally unstable and find someone better. There's ALWAYS someone better.
