Let me tell you guys why this is creepy. She's this guy's friend. It's awkward enough finding out your friend is in love with you without having to drive through a neighborhood full of people who found out before you. She's telling hundreds of perfect strangers she's in love with this guy before she's even giving him a chance to tell her he's not into her like that. Actually driving away was probably his way of trying not to hurt her feelings by confronting her public, in her driveway wearing a prom dress, while some of her neighbors and possibly family look on, when her ginormous display has given him no way out but to awkwardly say no, probably with no chance to explain himself after she'd put him on the spot. I don't understand why some of you don't think this is massive overkill. That's like the kind of thing you might do if you've been dating for months or are asking someone to get married. It's not something you do to someone who's your friend, even if you are in love with them. Jeez.
I'm assuming the extravagance difference found throughout the posts has at least some relation to the affluence of the school district, at least to some degree. But how is it creepy? I would have been flattered if my friend asked me to a dance like that, I would have appreciated the obvious effort she put forth to be unique.
Just *asking* apparently would have made him uncomfortable, and this made him pretty much crap his pants. Good job, friend-o. I'm half and half on this one: you kinda deserved it, but it still sucks. FYL.
I think if he had accepted, they fell in love, and lived happily ever after, they would be telling the story nostalgically to their grandchildren. Nobody would think it was creepy then. They would be marvelling over the romantic nature of that grand gesture. People would describe you as being that darling sweet girl who just did something so crazy. The only reason why it comes across as creepy is that the guy clearly thought it was creepy, so the immediate reaction is to imagine it from his viewpoint.
Sounds dumb like something you'd see in a movie. Guy has to feel pretty weird.
I agree with #94!
hmm.. that sucks but i don't know how good the idea of putting signs down his street was and then waiting for him in the driveway? i would've been creeped out too, but then again i wouldn't have reversed my car especially if he was a friend because that's a little rude, hmm FYL coz your friend is a bitch, but you deserved that one too.
maybe he forgot something at school

You brought that upon yourself. Just ask him. Sheesh.
OUCH!
