When it happens while you're running, you really don't feel these things until you stop.

Not to be rude...but exactly how hard did your nipples get at the time? What do you have, freakin' pencil erasers? I mean hey. I love when the "high-beams" are on, I find it very sexy, so you must be real sexy! Sorry to hear you got hurt. It'll heal, so next time, cover up!
They don't really get hard, it's just because men don't wear a second piece of clothing to prevent the chafing (like a sports bra). You can put bandaids or another form of bandage over them which helps.
