Octopi

By daddoesn'tknowbest - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I overheard my husband talking to our 6 year-old about animals for a project. I listened, thinking it was cute, until my husband said gleefully, "Remember to say this in your project: octopuses have 8 testicles." FML

Well at least he's keeping the kids imagination high

The kid isn't in H.S. or even Jr. H.S. Don't worry so much. Let him have a little fun, I mean come on, you married him to make him happy right? This is pretty harmless, though I would make him talk to the principal rather than you if it comes up.

Wrong. Octopi is a hypercorrection based on the assumption that "octopus" is a Latin noun, but it is actually a Latinized spelling of a Greek word. Due to this, the correct plural form would be "octopodes", but since that's rare and pedantic, we just say "octopuses".

I LOVE IT - this guy is awesome! I wish I would have thought of that when my kids were in school. HEY, at least he wasn't talking about buffalo and getting to say that is where Buffalo Wings come from... It's all harmless fun, let it happen!

Exactly, they might forget. Just remind your child, that dad is only full of crap, half the time. the other half he is looking for the testies on an octopus.

12 and 18 need to lighten up... Geez the kid is 6... It will be hilarious, the students will laugh, and the teacher will correct him... Love the husband at least he is using the classics with his kid instead of making them pompous goodie two shoes who will never have friends unless they also play DD...

I think he said tentacles and u mistook it

That will be a great laugh in 10 years!
