Today, I overheard my husband talking to our 6 year-old about animals for a project. I listened, thinking it was cute, until my husband said gleefully, "Remember to say this in your project: octopuses have 8 testicles." FML

Wow. I'm not sure what is more sad:: That your husband is trying to get a laugh at his poor daughter's expense, or that he thinks that "octopuses" is a word.

Okay, octopi, octopuses, octopodes, it's all technically correct, but most people use octopi. My sleep-deprived brain read the FML wrong, no need to get so butt-hurt about it. I didn't know that one had to do "research" before commenting on an FML, because everyone else does so as well.

because brilliant humor doesn't come at the expense of a 6 year old child either having the class laugh at (not with) him, or the teacher reprimanding him for something he may not yet understand.

Too bad the median iq score is 90 to 100 right? Wouldn't really say it's a long road, just a normal path.

The 100 mark is placed on "average" IQ. Since it's an average, there's going to be people above and below. Like any average, most people you meet wont have 100 IQ. All you really care about is not being too far beyond the standard deviation (below).
