Oh happy day!

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - Canada - Poplar Hill

Today, I announced my third pregnancy to my family. My dad's only reaction was to scoff, "Really? Stop breeding already." FML

This whole FML is highly dependent on your age in my opinion. If you're really young and already at three kids I'd say its a bit much. But shit, what do I know.

I'm sure if she was good at giving comeback she wouldn't be in this situation.

If you're underage then YDI... But if you're happily married then FYL!

Well, you really shouldn't have more than two kids...

by whos law? its not like shes shelling them like peas. its one more than their replacement. considering lots of people dont want or cant have kids i think a few people can stretch to three.

What makes you decide that? Two kids may be the average, but plenty of people have more, just like plenty of people have just one kid or no kids. If she can afford it, OP can have as many kids as she wants.

could go both ways depending on your age. 3 kids is more than a handful

Gonna have to agree with you Father. Stop breeding.

Don't worry about him you have better things to worry about!! He'll come around and I'm sure he'll his new grandchild unconditionally when it arrives! Congratulations on the bright side though

OP's dad has a point. She already has two of her own and given the other 8 billion mouths to feed in the world, why add to that number when you can go adopt one? Seriously it annoys me how much people simply HAVE to have their own.

Whether or not to adopt is a personal choice, just like having kids or not is a personal choice. If you think there are so many kids out there who need to be adopted, then you adopt some, but don't judge others for things that are none of your business.

Also, 8 billion? Just a bit over 7 actually...

I disagree with a few of you. She can have as many children as she can afford. I am one of 8. I never hurt for anything in my childhood and was even a little spoiled. My father was a blue collar man and my mom was a Secretary but they made it work and were fantastic parents. Similarly, my sister in law is 25 years old and just had her 4th child. She is also a fantastic mother who works full time at a law firm and is 4 credits away from graduating from a university. She also wants more kids. Also, about the being so young comments, my husband and I are 21 years old and will be expecting our 2nd child in September. He works a great job and I am able to stay home and take care of our beautiful son. I don't believe anyone has a right to judge because we do not know the situation. Congrats OP and tell your dad to get happy. Grand babies are the best. =)

Ok, I have a question. A 25 year old mother of 4, working at a law firm and going to university, who is raising her kids?

The oldest 3 are of school age and the youngest is able to go to work with her so she can successfully breastfeed. When her husband gets off of work he picks the four of them up. When she gets out of school around 8 she goes home and eats the dinner that her husband made with her kids, then helps the eldest with his homework (he is the only one with homework), and spends the remainder of the evening with them. She also has the weekends to be with her children and spends every waking moment possible with them while still trying to give them the life they deserve.

The world is already overpopulated, I kind of agree with the statement. I do hope that he was joking though, since you're already pregnant and announced it happily. Congratulations!

Three isn't a ridiculous number of kids to have. It's not like this is your twelfth or anything, and as long as you can take care of them all, it's nobody's business but yours. Congrats on the pregnancy, OP.
