One Day…

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - Australia - Gosford

Today, I paused the movie my girlfriend and I were watching and told her, for the first time, that I loved her. Her response was to stare at me silently for a few seconds before unpausing the film. FML

Whether this is an FML or YDI depends on the movie.

They were watching Les Misérables and she is a robot.

I swear I was going to ask if they were watching "Les Miserables" before I saw this.

I think it's only in theaters... Or maybe they illegally downloaded.

51 - It was a joke. He was referring to a previous FML

Sorry, but it sucks to be you Buddy. That's a HUGE old fart blossom you left hanging in the breeze. One of the awkward moments that can never be erased. Don't make the mistake of the follow up, "What about what I said to you yesterday during the movie?" Better to just let that hang there and dissipate on it's own. She'll return the feeling if she's so inclined, but if you press the issue you might be watching movies solo from now on.

Sorry OP. maybe she was scared. I hope that was the case. Good luck and I hope she comes around.

I have to wonder how long OP has been dating his girlfriend.

They just met yesterday through an online dating site.

Sometimes those three words can leave one speechless. Maybe you took the words right out of her mouth... ( • )>

...Must have been while he was kissing her.

Those three words Are said too much They're not enough If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and just forget the world? 68 you thought meatloaf, I thought snow patrol(:

Well, it was kinda rude to pause the movie. :-)

Depending on how long you've been together, she might not be ready to say that she loves you...I know that when my ex told me he loved me for the first time we had been together for about three weeks (really) and I got incredibly flustered. It's a really uncomfortable situation to be in, so I can sort of see why your girlfriend did what she did. Maybe talk to her, OP? The phrase "I love you" means different things to different people...maybe she takes it more seriously.

I don't get why people care so much about saying 'I love you'. My boyfriend started off saying he wanted to say it to me all the time, then when I 'wanted' to hear it he didn't feel like saying it anymore. Big deal. He still loves me anyway.

It's different for everyone. My boyfriend and I had been best friends for years before we started dating. Saying that we loved each other wasn't a huge deal, because we were best friends. I read somewhere that apparently the average amount of days that a guy will wait to tell you he loves you is around 90.

My husband first told me "I love you", after we were together over two years. I was too stubborned to say it first. Lol It was a loooong wait but I knew he meant it whole heartedly once spoken.(:

You know what's worse than people who talk during films? People who pause the film so you have to listen to them. :p
