I would walk over there and tell him "you ever tried doing this?" and slam the door close with all my might. Call it an over reaction, but if YOU'RE doing something stupid and get mad at ME, I will snap.

I think a better solution would be to start taking pictures of him on the toilet and send them to his friends, FB, Twitter, anyplace that would cause embarrassment. See if he starts closing the door then.

I managed to correct my younger brother from doing this in his teens by taking photographs with a disposable camera and threatening to stick them up around school. You'd be surprised how quickly he started closing (and locking) the bathroom door. Now if only I could get that to work on my mother... >.>
