So really what you're saying is you stopped too close for them to get out?
It you have cut-rate insurance, you can be paying for this yourself! Haha I'm sorry I couldn't resist
I've nearly had that happen to me once. I saw it coming first and imediately went into reverse and backed up just intime to miss it. Sorry it happened to you, hope you can get them to pay for the damages. :(
It's okay OP at least you saw them back into your car.. Someone backed into mine yesterday and didn't even leave their insurance or a note.
When it's sunning, backing up out of a parking spot, and using your rare view mirror, it's not actually crystal clear to see a hand waving inside a car. This could be irrelevant info I'm saying since you probably waved your hand from outside the car and they probably stuck their head outside the car to backup but I doubt that but then again you did say they were "batshit insane psychopath", but you really need to get fond of homking that horn
It is apparent that he's a "batshit insane psychopath" why?
No one knows the specifications. Everyone knows how parking lots go, ESP in winter, they all try to get a parking spot in the front. Maybe OP was the psycho and didn't give this guy enough room. It would not be surprising if he didn't, because that's what most anxious "I don't want to park far" or "I just want to park" people do. It's more believable that OP is the psycho, because of all the adjectives he called the other driver.
In some states, they consider parking lots 50/50. Did you know in other states, that carry the no fault law, if your car gets rear-ended at a stop light or when your car is parked; it's automatically 20% your fault? Even though it was completely the other drivers fault, and these states laws just punish people for being at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
