Pipe down, Brenda

Today, my soon-to-be mother-in-law decided that she is going to be in charge of planning my wedding. All decisions must be approved by her, and anything she doesn't like will be thrown out. She also wants to go on our honeymoon with us to make sure I don't "defile" her son. FML

That's actually awful! Don't let that happen! It's you and your spouses to be day and she's just trying to live vicariously through you both. Don't let her ruin your special day!

You better put her in her place and set boundaries before she gets much worse.

In most relationships the male pushes for sexual intercourse AKA defiling her son

My mother told me before I got married that I wasn't just marrying him, I was marrying his family. Stupid, typical me thought "he isn't a mama's boy, sure they're nuts but he's different. He'll stick up for me and we'll be fine!" Current me says "wow divorces are expensive, how did I not see that he would have a ton of issues from growing up around that?" I'm not saying call it off, but perhaps some premarital counseling would be a good idea.

I think we can all agree that you need to put your foot down, AND that you need to update us.

"Defile"? By her definition, that's probably the only thing a honeymoon is about.

It's your wedding, YOU and your fiance should be the ones who decides not your mother in law to be or anyone else! I'd tell her to go and get ******! You have to get your fiance in on this to support you, otherwise your marriage from this day on will be ******. With a mother in law like this, you'll have a ******* miserable marriage. Why some mother in laws can be such bitches,I have no idea. If your fiance is on her side, you will live a very unhappy life.

IMO, you should tell her to cut that shit, or if she doesn't, threaten to disinvite her from the wedding.

But isn't that kinda the point of the honeymoon?

When you marry someone, in a sense you marry their whole family. If he isn't standing up for you, get out now.
