This is not an FML, stop being so dramatic. You could be the best musician in the world, and at some point I'd still want you to stop so I didn't have to listen to it anymore. At least he tried to be polite about it and didn't just call the building manager. He didn't even ask you to stop, just wanted to know when to expect you to be practicing. Thank the guy for letting you know you were being bothersome and go get a practice mute.
It doesn't mean she's a bad violinist. even I get annoyed with my violin after a few hours.
Well, if he also lives in your apartment complex I can understand why he'd be annoyed. The violin is a fast, loud, sometimes high pitched instrument. It'd be really annoying to be, like, trying to listen to your own music or take a nap or entertain guests while you're strumming away. He probably wasn't insinuating that you were a bad player, just that you play too long.
maybe he just hates violins...u never know 0.o don't worry lmao...but that's pretty sad man =P
OP could get an electric violin and then practice with headphones.

Hey, that doesn't necessarily mean your playing was bad. He might have just found it loud and it was waking up his baby or something.
I'm a string player myself, go to your local music store and ask for a practice mute.
