Play ball

Today, the guy that I like took me on to the Cavaliers game. At the game, on the jumbotron they do a thing where they show couples and have them kiss, the camera goes on to us and as I go into kiss him, he turns and says, "Not in this lifetime". The entire stadium got to see me get rejected. FML

#101 I'm not a Wizards fans at all, bud. The wizards are a pathetic joke. LeBron is a great player.... but Stern and the refs augment his success a great deal by giving him ridiculous continuations and allowing him to take an extra step or hop on 80% of his drives. He is a stellar player and an amazing athlete; he doesn't need the extra help from the refs, but he gets it and it make every game into a circus. He also whines and is a total baby. You'd think a 6'9, 270 lbs man would be able to take a little contact without grimacing all the time.

dang!!! usually it'd be the other way around, the girl rejecting the guy right

Oh, my god, now we're committed to kissing people we go to a ******* basketball game with? I agree that the way he said it was a dick move, but he isn't forced to kiss her just because he's there with her. If he doesn't want to, he doesn't have to. He's not the worst person ever for not wanting to kiss her, he's just a dick for doing it in that way.

Even if he liked you just as a friend, a friend would never talk to you so disrespectfully or humiliate you like that in front of thousands of people. He didn't have to kiss you but could have made a kind gesture of some sort (smile and wave, a bit of a hug, whatever), instead of saying, "Not in this lifetime" like you were the scum of the earth. He is soulless and cruel. I hope there's a camera around when karma comes after his ass. People like that will end up being a curse in all the lives he touches. Run away, run away!

#2 hahah, i would have bitchslapped him. And why would you invite someone to a game that at least wasn't your friend that you would kiss on the cheek?

Wow, a lot of you people are bitches. So he didn't want to kiss her, so ******* what? Maybe he has higher standards than OP or something. We don't know his side of the story, so just shut the **** up unless you know what you're talking about (And that involves reading the whole thing which #14 obviously didn't do, since the guy wasn't even going out with her in the first place).

#114 No one's asking him to make out or be passionately affectionate, he didn't have to do anything at all even, he could very well just have smiled awkwardly, but saying "never in this lifetime" is a little bit of a douche bag move don't you think? I mean if he'd just smiled, looked awkward, or hugged the girl he could have gotten away with being forced to kiss the girl AND without being a complete ass. If he was any kind of friend material (assuming that's all he wanted to be) he wouldn't have embarrassed her in front of the entire stadium. No one's asking for some romantic open mouthed action, just a simple gesture (even just an arm around the girl for god's sake) to stop the awkward situation. If he'd done any of the above people probably would have assumed they were related/not involved/embarrassed and he wouldn't have come off as a major ass and she wouldn't be posting on fml... and if she did post a fml I highly doubt she'd be getting as much sympathy. Oh and to all you people saying that if the roles were reversed we wouldn't be bashing I believe you're highly mistaken. If a girl yelled "not in your lifetime" to a guy in front of an entire stadium she'd be a first class bitch, nothing less. Rejection is normal, public humiliation doesn't have to be.

Okay that was really strange, a whole bunch of posts just went missing and the post numbers have changed. I was responding to RockyII5, who was post #113 when I started writing and is now 117. Anyway, I totally agree with a comment I just saw that I can't see anymore. I think the poster's name was something like "skiesofgreen," and the comment very eloquently pointed out the difference between rejection and public humiliation. Cheers.

poor thing. that must have really sucked. I agree he should have handled it better!
