Two weeks in and you are keeping your New Year resolutions! go you!
You should probably seek medical advice.
That's probably not motion sickness.. It's probably from actually moving. There's very little possibility of getting sick on an elliptical unless you ate a bunch of ice cream first. In that case, Ydi.
Do Something Else...
YDI, because you're exercising wrong. Motion sickness is caused by disparate movement between your head and your core, which, on an elliptical, should stay pretty much still and in one place.
Motion sickness is caused by discrepecy between your eyes and body . on elipticals your body says its moving but your eyes says your not just as in cars your eyes say your moving and your body says your not. its entirely possible. i always get dizzy on elipticals/tredmills etc
Don't worry, that's happened to me before and I work out often. It's when I use a different style of machine than usual. If I'm not hanging onto the handles and I can see them moving in my peripheral vision....ick.
Working out on gym equipment is not in the cards for you right now. One alternative is to start off with walking. Fatties need to walk before they can run. Another alternative is to find a plumpa humpa who loves your curves (aka, rolls) and forget about changing to suit "society's" ideal of body type.
Wear a sea band around your wrist, this should help with the motion sickness. You could also try/not try (depending on what you did last time) to read or watch a show on ur phone, sometimes it's the peripheral that causes it and sometimes the opposite. Or just try a different machine, treadmill or bike or stairs and see what works for u. Good luck op!

You don't have to go to the gym right away. Start off by walking or getting a small weight set for home. Take baby steps :)
Try something else other than that machine. Don't let one machine stop you. Cardio classes, treadmill, etc. Everybody has to start off somewhere.
