Baby steps at first. It takes time don't get discouraged. I'm 8 months in 330 lbs and now I'm 190. Just stick to it!

At least you're one of those people that at least try to get in shape(: I'm sure if you try again you won't get sick again! Kinda like how people when they run for the first time in a while can't run fast or long, but gradually they get used to it and are able to run faster and longer!:D

You don't have to go to the gym right away. Start off by walking or getting a small weight set for home. Take baby steps :)
Try something else other than that machine. Don't let one machine stop you. Cardio classes, treadmill, etc. Everybody has to start off somewhere.
