Today, my best friend set me up on a blind date with someone he said was very hot. I'm not exactly what you call fit, so I haven't been dating lately. As soon as I got to the restaurant, I spotted the girl. She looked me up and down, said, "You have GOT to be kidding me" and left. FML

Today, I went on a blind date that my best friend had set up for me. When I arrived, I introduced myself and we sat at the table. After we ordered our food, he asked the waiter for some crayons and a kid's menu, and colored for the half hour before our food came. He didn't talk to me at all. FML

Today, I went on a blind date that my friend set up at a coffee shop. I arrived early, feeling nervous but excited. As I sat waiting, I noticed a person waving at me from across the room. I smiled and waved back, only to realize that they were actually waving at someone behind me. My date never showed up. FML

Today, I went on a blind date, even though the whole concept freaks me out a bit. My date showed up with his sister, who sat at our table and critiqued everything we did, from how I chewed my food, to the way we nervously laughed. He hardly said a word the whole time. FML

I think the guy's honesty is refreshing. That certainly is better than wasting time with each other, both waiting for the other person to measure up.

How did she come to this in-depth evaluation before he even delivered his opening line? I can only guess that there was absolutely nothing wrong with this guy UNTIL his proclamation of "You're kidding, right?". Perhaps OP is simply trying to save face with her description of this guy...

YDI for being so shallow. he might have meant it in a way like "shes out of my league shes so good looking, why would you hook her up with me?" or maybe your so full of yourself that your not so good lookin after all and you got what was comin to you.
