Riot!

Today, it was my first time as a hockey referee, for a game played by 7-year-olds. At one point, a little boy tripped another boy. Doing my job, I gave him 2 minutes in the penalty box. After the game, I was attacked by a mob of parents. I was even given an optometrist's business card. FML

You're a referee, expect people to hate you.

Ahh parents during their children's sporting events and whatnot.

Parents should be held in a containment room and then meet their kids at the car. They ruin too many kids future by being fucktards.

YDI, if you were attacked by a "mob" of parents (more than just the kids parents) and were given an OPTOMETRISTS card, then you must have made the wrong decision. Referees that don't pay attention FTL...

Quit now before you resent minor hockey. Trust me.

Why are sports fans so retarded? Maybe it was a b.s. call, but it's still just a game.

YDI for expecting to be treated nice when you're a ref. Everyone hates you when you wear black and white stripes..

good thing OP wheres protective gear, some parents at kid's sporting events are nutjobs trying to relive there failed dreams threw there kids and go apeshit at any given chance of upset.

I am a referee too and at this age, before give them penalties, I give them warning and explain them what he did wrong because at this age it's more educative than anythin else

i'd go n **** those parents up if i was ur friend, thug style ;D

Being a ref is never good. However, a peewee hockey game had parents surrounding you for a call you made? People nowadays are crazy.

Another hockey ref here. The way I look at my job is this. At the end of the day, if everybody likes me, I've done my job. If everybody hates me, I've done my job. If half the people like me, and half hate me, only then do I need to re evaluate. Plus, you start to enjoy it after awhile.
