There is no good reason someone should say that, especially to a paying customer. Even if you're overweight, the pounds don't magically melt off, and it takes time to lose weight. This could have been a once-in-awhile treat for doing well. Look at it this way: he's the one working at a McDonalds, and he can't even keep his mouth shut in front of his paying customers. He's got to be compensating for something, and trying to make himself feel better.
