Why are there so many similar stories to this? I don't honestly think kids that age have a concept of 'ugly', especially not when it comes to family/people they are close with. I think these are fakes...

I'm with 22, and I was compared to my father a lot. Who cares, they ARE your parents after all. I would HOPE you look something like them.

To be fair though, if she was an 8 year old who looked old enough to be her own mother, it would be very strange. I don't think children understand that someone can look like someone without looking the same as them, especially if they are different ages.

She's 8, she probably doesn't understand that concept of inheriting looks and looking like parents. Maybe if she was 14, you could be worried. And who talks to an 8-year-old in third person, anyway?

There are some MEAN little kids out there...not as in them being "kid's say the darndest things" honest and cute...more as in... them being malicious. I've babysat for plenty of 8 year olds, and that's old enough to be mean and know you're being mean. So it just depends on the kid I guess.

I'm compared to my dad alot yes I do hate it since I got everything from him to same personalities to lips to eyebrows etc. but the one thing that I really like my dad and everybody else is his green eyes. I have drk brwn eyes. Like everybody else thats mexican has brown eyes. What are the odds at getting everything from him except his eyes! To this day it annoys me but I gotta admit he gets really good-looking girlfriends. Besides kids look like there parents of course. She would learn that eventually in the future and maybe remember sayin' that to her own mother.
