Come to Canada instead! We're just across the border'
Mmmmmm.... Danish.......
Could be worse, I'm Scottish but I get called English a lot. Tourists and other foreigners also insist that my country is a part of England (despite the cultural, linguistic and geographical differences). I also speak Scots Gaelic, which most people (English in this case) make fun of me for because it is a 'dead and useless language'.
That is why I am so ashamed I have to call myself an American. Please understand that not everyone here is absolutely oblivious to the fact that there are other countries in the world... I apologise for the people of the Unmannered Shittiness of America..
I think the reason many people are more upset about American ignorance than ignorance elsewhere, is that it shows a general lack of interest in the world outside the USA. This combined with the common belief that they have the right to interfere in other countries' internal affairs without consent from the UN, and that they're the "best" country in the world, when for instance universal healthcare is viewed as a basic human right in large parts of the world - is provoking to the rest of the world. I don't know if American education is any worse than elsewhere (there seem to be significant local differences), but most other places I've visited, people have this general interest in what goes on in the world around them, and so they use the geographical knowledge they have on at least a weekly basis. There are ignorant people who don't care about the world everywhere, of course, but those same ignorant people most often don't claim that they're better than the rest of the world.
why did u move the states anyway haha. denmark has an extremely high GDP per capita, the only good thing here is our universities.

Laugh at their ignorance. Or agree with their Nazi joke and let them know they could be next.
I guess, when you moved to America, you did Nazi that coming.
