Today, my boyfriend and his family had invited me to go on a tropical family trip with them. When we got to the airport, security stopped me and opened my carry-on bag. I'd forgotten about the no liquids rule. They took out a bottle of massage oil, lube, Vagisil and Nair. His whole family saw. FML

How do you forget about the no liquids rule? Last time I was in an airport, they have a sign reminding you every twenty feet or so.

why would you put that stuff in your carry on?

This isn't completely her fault. Have most of you guys never traveled or something? Not everyone checks their luggage. Sometimes if I'm going on vacation for a week or so I bring just a carry-on because it's a pain in the ass to wait for your luggage, especially if no one else checked anything. But what do you need vagasil for? Yeast infection?

Vagisil isn't only for yeast infections. It's also just for general discomfort

To everyone that wonders how she could forget....that's why it's called FORGETTING. Have you ever been reminded to do something...but you still forgot to do it?? Happens to me all the time. Get over it. She forgot. Also, people bring stuff on their carry on baggage if there's no room in their suitcase or for any number of reasons. And I also agree with 16, sex with a yeast infection...probably not fun.

no liquids rule? i took a trip to Oregon and i walked right through security and walked on the plane with a 2 litre of coca cola. this must be bs.

@24 - Looks like you don't travel much. The "liquid rule" is for when traveling to other countries.

Actually it's for every plane ride, no matter how short. At least in Canada and the US!

guys, a lot of airlines charge to check bags. unless i'm going somewhere for more than a week, i try to fit everything into a carry-on, a) to avoid costs and b) because luggage gets lost a lot. and yeah, that's mad awkward, but did the family really expect the couple not to be having sex? (assuming the kids are college-ish age).

also, no, the "liquid rule" *definitely* applies w/in the states, although some minor airports might have more lax security.

That really sucks and is very unfortunate. It kind of compares to my situation only the fact is that my girlfriend and I had sex about 5 times one day (no joke) and I had put all my used condoms on a small desk/dresser next to my bed only to forget about that they were there when I had to take her home. You should have seen the look on my mom's face when I came home lol

to #25 no, i dont travel much. but i do know a lot of people who have traveled a lot and they were able to bring drinks on the plane. i guess Logan international which is the airport in my hometown doesnt have a no liquids rule. though, they do have a rule against toxic and harmful substances. but drinks are fine. i was able to board with a 2 litre, and the people i know who traveled all brought drinks on the plane. i hope they dont make a no liquids rule. that would suck.

#29 If you buy your drinks in the airport after you've been through security then you are allowed to bring it on the plane... The no liquids rule is worldwide...you can't carry more than 100 ml of the same liquid and the liquids you do carry have to be in a one quart transparent ziploc baggie...and you can't carry more than one ziploc bag can fit... And drinks or other things bought in duty free or whatever are an exception to that rule...and of course sometimes they just don't check properly or they don't care...but the rule exists everywhere...

"Liquids are allowed in carry-on luggage in accordance with the 3-1-1 format. All liquids must be contained in a bottle 3 ounces or less and placed inside a one quart, clear, plastic, zip-top bag. One bag per passenger. There are exceptions for baby food/formula as well as items needed for special medical purposes." <-- From the website of Logan International Airport http://www.massport.com/logan/insid_secur.html
