It is very very easy to tell them both to **** off. Really. There is, however, A Lot of information you don't have here. Firstly, I agree your life sucks, no doubt. Secondly, Gather your facts, talk with both of them, then make your choices. 8 years is a long time to just throw out without all the info. Although the urge to trash his laptop is, in fact, strong, I suggest being the better person. *shrugs* That's just me.

My question is: Why did he videotape it? I mean, I get the general idea, but to take a video of something that he shouldn't of done and saved it to his laptop sounds a bit moronic.
wow.....op.....that's a problem. maybe he was trying to come clean in his own way. i would let her go. if she couldn't tell you herself she doesn't deserve to keep you.
Maybe she's annoyed that it's been 8 years and she still only has "girlfriend" status. Meanwhile your "friend" recorded it as blackmail and to prove he can have what you have. Also, have you had any period through the 8 years where you have taken a break? Could have happen then or right before you got together.
I would have hurt him so badly...
