Slip up

By clumsyandhungry - 15/09/2010 04:24 - United States

Today, we were closing the restaurant early. I begin mopping as a couple walks in. The lady slips and falls, and to avoid a lawsuit, we offer them free food. After they left, I slipped on the freshly mopped kitchen floor with dishes in my hands. I didn't get free food. FML

ahhh yeah... that's what I'm talking bout!!!

Okay, A Lady Slipped And Tgen Walked Out...Now, You Cant Walk ? When You Did The Same Thing...Except With Glass In Your Hands ...? Hehe...:0.0

I'm sorry, but huh? I've read this over and over and I still have no idea what you're trying to say.

I've been reading it over and over too. Still not fully sure what she was trying to say.

quite obvious what she's saying guys. "You saw a lady slip in the water, and then tried to walk through it too, with glasses (though I still thought of plates and the like) In your hands?"

Ooh, I want to play! My interpretation: "Both you and the customer slipped and fell. Yet she could get up and walk out, meaning she was physically fine, but you got hurt so badly that you can't walk? Why were you so hurt, if the only difference was you were carrying dishes when you fell?" I don't know where 23 picked up the idea that OP couldn't walk, or why 23 thinks falling with hands full of breakables is comparable to falling with free hands. Still, I stand by my interpretation. :]

I think I'm with Jane on this one. My best guess was pretty similar to that, but even thinking along those lines, it's hard to make what 23 said fit. Paula - you're possibly right, but I think she's referring to them both falling, not both walking through water. Whichever way it goes, it's an amazing piece of writing. You know you're pushing the boundaries of the English language when even the Grammar Nazis won't touch it.

Ydi for both. Next time use a wet floor sign, and lay down mats until the floor dries in the kitchen.

that's cos you work there but you can sue or like stay home and get paid if your injured
