Slip up

By clumsyandhungry - 15/09/2010 04:24 - United States

Today, we were closing the restaurant early. I begin mopping as a couple walks in. The lady slips and falls, and to avoid a lawsuit, we offer them free food. After they left, I slipped on the freshly mopped kitchen floor with dishes in my hands. I didn't get free food. FML

They're called non-slip shoes. You should give 'em a try.

ok, someone's gotta say it: what were you doing outside the kitchen? I know, it's an obvious answer, and you could malamute argument that she was in the kitchen, but you being female and the whole kitchen thing... well, it had to be said.

Wait, you work in a restaurant that doesn't give you free food? Are you at a fast food place? Or do the cooks hate you? All my family and I have been working at restaurants our whole lives, and I've never heard of the cooks not making something for people that asked them for it. And as far as falling on the floor you just mopped, it happens. I probably fall at least every other day, although I've never done it with dishes, that one must suck. I hope they didn't make you pay for them, and I hope they didn't get too pissed. It sucks, slip resistant shoes do nothing, wet kitchen tile is dangerous....
