This has to be illegal.
I hate to say it but work on a train in the kitchen with no A/C, even with the two big side doors open and all the windows open, it daily through the summer gets to 105 minimum. And we have no where to go, you just have to deal. But it does still suck
This happened somewhere I used to work. Another girl and I have conditions that make us super sensitive to heat. After 2 weeks she called OSHA and it got fixed within a couple days
AC's break sometimes, that's just how it works. All you can do is set up some fans and tough it out until the AC gets fixed. What else do you expect your employer to do?
Provide reasonable accommodations, probably.
I would file a complaint if it's a chain restaurant, otherwise on the side you should look into other jobs that pay better and has better human rights.
Seriously your bitching bout no ac in a kitchen!? I've worked in kitchens that reach 154 degrees with no ac and no one bitched out cause they were "hot"
Try holding a small torch with your mouth while pulling CAT5 cables inside the ceiling of a house, cutting yourself with nails sticking out of the beams then lying on on 2 beams, 1 digging into your shins and the other your ribs because you have to support your whole body's weight on just those, sweating so much the salt burns your eyes (and i swear to god if you bring me half a glass of water when i climb out i will skullfuck you). You're a trooper and I salute you.

Hope it's fixed soon :( regulated kitchens are bad enough! But even if it is fixed soon you should still look for another job because your employer just showed that he doesn't respect you guys or think of your well being
Assuming it's a chain restaurant, file a complaint to someone higher up than your boss. Whether it be about your boss' behavior or just asking for the AC to be fixed, no one should have to work under those conditions. Best of luck OP.
