Some things never change…

By bastardchild_01 - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States - Baton Rouge

Today, after much reluctance due to fear of causing a huge debate, I finally posted something on Facebook about the presidential debates. However, the post sparked an argument with my mom's childhood best friend, that ended with her telling me that my dad isn't actually my dad. FML

Wow! That was really immature and uncalled for! I'm sorry OP :-(

Maybe she's just being a bitch.....? Sorry OP :( I occasionally post political things, and if someone is rude to me or degrades my opinion, I just unfriend them. What she said to you was completely uncalled for and I hope she wasn't serious.

Well at least it was handled in a mature manner.

Aren't you the little shit-stirrer? For fun, start some chat about: Pro-life vs pro-choice Mac vs PC And if you want to cause real trouble, AC (Telsa, Westinghouse) vs DC (Edison). Say what you like about the other arguments, but neither (ee) of them involved electrocuting elephants.

What a psyco. Sorry OP A Dad is the guy who is there for you day after day, thru thick & thin.

I LOVE engaging in political debates...with strangers. It's a little different when it's your friends and family. The last few times I got involved in a political debate on facebook, the person I was debating made a reply that was so utterly uninformed and stupid I had to just let the reply stand without a rebuttal for fear of coming off as mean. Clearly, your mom (or mom's friend, I'm not sure which one o.O) is not so considerate. Sorry, OP. :( That's a real shitty way to find that out.

Oh sorry, his mom's friend. I didn't read the FML carefully enough. For some reason I thought the mom was debating the friend. My apologies, FML people.

Well now wouldn't that be something! The man won't even drink coffee!

That was real childish of her to do that. Some adults these days need to think before they say things.

Another reason among millions of reasons why to avoid facebook and get a real life..in my opinion...

Agreed I rarely ever go on. Pointless to me and boring.

No offense op (probably will get thumbed down) but if you were reluctant to do it you probably shouldn't have. Especially since its about politics you weren't confident about what you were going to write on FB so the outcome was that plus politics always strikes up a huge debate with everyone. I choose to not talk about it at all because I would have lots of enemies. It's just smarter to not bring that subject up unless you really wanna stand your guard down about it.

Dang…well at least you started a very important debate :/ sorry OP :(

That's why I NEVER discuss politics. My day and my aunt tried to with me once and I told them I'm having non of that!
