If you are under the age of majority for medical stuff in your country, ask the psychiatrist to make an official affidavit that you probably have ADHD and you’re pending testing, then see if that helps you anything in your professional life (school, uni, and work), then wait until you’re old enough to be protected by HIPAA, professional secrecy, or whatever else applies in your neck of the woods. If you’re already old enough then fudge your dad and go behind his back. He doesn’t need or deserve to know after this reaction. Disability accomodations are absolutely critical and I wish everyone who needs them the chance to use them.
If you listened to him rant for 30 minutes, you don't have ADHD. Case closed.
might want to get yourself checked for severe anxiety first it can cause pseudo like ADD and ADHD symptoms
So let me get this straight you have multiple people saying you should take it, but your father is sharing his opinion and now it is what he says you don't need it. How about stand for your own health and wellbeing, and realise your closest might not be the greatest help with your health decisions, especially considering most people are afraid of what they don't know and most parents wish their children healthy so maybe the dad is afraid for.you and doesn't know how to communicate his feelings. Do what is best for your life, and others can rest their cases and make decisions in their life. Would.you rather get checked and have an answer and be able to take actions, or.live in oblivious and hoping for the best... I really hope you're a teenager that cannot have access without parental approval, but if you're adult them even more reasons to keep your health decisions private from family until you have gotten the tests, results. Discussing something that might not happen can cause unnecessary worry and discussion such as you had above. Good luck, and remember you only.get one life and one body and mind, keep them with you and take care of them!
