Once I sneezed in my dads car while my mouth was full of scrambled eggs. There's really only so much you can do after that.

No, some people have very superficial capillaries in their nostrils. My brother has had chronic nose bleeds his entire life. My mom had to take him to have the capillaries cauterized when he was a little one (side note: the doctor didn't numb him enough and when he shrieked from the silver nitrate, the doctor said he was just being a baby). He's now in his early 30's and still gets nose bleeds constantly.

If your nose is spurting blood and you sneeze violently (and the former can cause the latter) then unless you've got something securely covering your entire face area, blood will fly. It will spray through your hands, up your face, everywhere. As someone with a blood vessel in my nose that's a bit too close to the surface and frequently starts bleeding, I know. The best thing to do when something like that threatens is try like hell to make it to the shower.
